What is your return policy?
Due to the nature of our products, we do not accept returns. Please ask questions if you need more information, we are happy to help! If buying for a friend, consider a gift certificate instead.
What is your shipping policy?
Generally we ship USPS flat rate. Most of our items are in stock and ready to ship. Please allow 2 days for order processing. Occasionally we get a little behind (haha) so please allow an extra day or two for us to make your product. If you are in a rush and need it quick, shoot us an email to verify stock and shipping before you buy.
How long will washable wipes last?
We estimate at least 5 years! Most people will save at least $200 by not purchasing so much toilet paper over that time frame. And depending on how early you start on this path and how many people you tell, your network could literally save entire eco systems from destruction.
What do I do with the dirty ones?
Place soiled wipes in a laundry bag or holding bucket until wash day. If the wipe was used for urine only , there is no need to soak prior to washing. We do offer laundry bags with cord locks for your convenience. Occasionally we have holding buckets as well.
How do I wash them?
Urine is actually quite clean so there is no need to do anything special on wash day. Just toss the soiled wipes or Tree Free Towels in with your regular laundry. Some people prefer to add a bit of vinegar to the wash. I wash mine once per week. Cotton items have been pre-shrunk.
Can I arrange for local pick up?
Sure, I would love to help you save some money on shipping! Email Therese@HarvestOfPeace.com
Is organic cotton really worth the extra cost?
Yes! Organic cotton is GMO free and grown without the use of pesticides and harmful chemicals. This is better not just for you but also for the planet and the farmers. In 2022, Harvest of Peace will take a RADICAL stance and phase out all non-organic fabrics.
How many washable wipes do I need?
That kinda depends on how often you urinate, if you plan to carry them in your purse, how many people in your home will be using them and how often you plan to do laundry. Think about this then do a self assessment. Generally, 20-40 wipes is sufficient for one person per week. Please exercise good hygiene and use a clean wipe each time you go.
Doesn’t toilet paper come from managed plantations?
This is false. Some toilet paper does come from managed plantations, but most of the premium brands come from native trees, particularly old growth trees. This helps produce a softer paper. Tree plantations, which sound good in theory, actually are responsible for much environmental damage. A good account of this mismanagement and possible solutions, can be found in Suzanne Simards book Finding the Mother Tree.
Why not use bamboo?
Bamboo and cotton are both renewable. Bamboo is still very resource intensive and may contain more chemicals than you think. Many bamboo toilet papers are by subscription which means energy resources to bring them to your door on a repeated schedule.
